FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION
'We started with a few but now we are many, not only in numbers but also in talent and creativity.'
DIS Riverside celebrated its fourth Founder’s Day on 23rd October, 2019 to mark the completion of 4 years since its inception. The day of joy and celebration was made
special by presenting a kaleidoscope of music and dance performances.
Mr. Mandeep Rai, who had served in the Income Tax Department for 36 years and has retired as the Director General of Investigation, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as
the esteemed Chief Guest. Mr. Rai has also authored three popular books. The Chairman, Mr. D.S. Mann, Founder Principal, Mrs. M.K. Mann and the Directors Mrs. Sonika
Mann and Mr. H.S. Mann graced the occasion with their presence.
The august gathering was addressed by our revered Principal, Mr. Dilip George.
In his address, Mr. George welcomed the Chief-Guest and all the dignitaries. He stressed upon the importance of parents spending quality time with their children and
maintaining a symbiotic partnership with the school for an all-round and wholesome development of their children.
Riverside celebrated the success of its meritorious students by presenting them with the awards. The achievers were:
Class 1 – Atharv Negi 88% Class 2- Aarna Wali 97% Class 3- Maira Dixit 93% Class 4- Aaradhya Singh 95%
Class 5- Adhiraj Singh Mann 88% Class 6- Satvik Singh Chauhan 91% Class 7- Tanishk Sharma 94% Class 8- Soumya Gupta 90%
Class 9- Ojas Singh Bhanot 93% Class 10- Ishika Lalwani 97%, Sanchita Das 97% Class 11 A- Usman Shahid 90% (Science)
Class 11 B- Aastha Singh 84%(Commerce)
The Chief-Guest, along with the Principal, bestowed accolades upon the students for their exceptional and outstanding performances in academics. The Director Mr. H.S.
Mann announced the ‘Student of the Year’ award, which was bagged by Usman Shahid and the ‘Sportsperson of the Year’ award which was taken home by Jude Soraine.
The most coveted and the prestigious Mann Trophy was won by Gandhi House.
Honourable Director Mr. H.S. Mann offered a vote of thanks to the Chief-Guest, dignitaries and all the staff and students involved in the planning and execution of the
event.
As a tribute to the school's founders, Riverians presented a musical symphony-' SUR TAAL'. It was an amalgamation of both western and Indian classical music, created by
the fusion of tabla beats and drums, guitar and sitar, harmonium and key board and of course the violin and bass guitar. The tiny tots of the junior wing presented the play
‘THE LION KING'. The play conveyed the underlying message of never losing courage, being positive under all circumstances and believing in happy endings. The senior
Riverians presented 'NAVARASA' which included a variety of dances depicting the nine emotions of a human being.
Last but not the least was the Grand Finale in which the entire school hopped on to the stage to rhythmic musical beats and stole the hearts of the audience with their
endearing moves. The Founder’s Day programme ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
